Exploring lettuce biometrics, I tracked Boston’s smooth, rounded leaves and Buttercrunch’s ruffled edges through a 1.5-month growth period (June 23–Aug 4). Using a refined hydroponic system, I mapped plant coordinates, recorded observations, and logged harvest yields in my compact notebook.

Hydroponic system refined:
I used 12-inch aluminum foil to make the perforated cover for inserting organic plant-growing sponges. The redesigned platform enables cultivation without plastic plant baskets.
Garden harvest log:
This time, the overall yield rate was 25%. Out of 12 plant-growing sponges, one Boston lettuce and two Buttercrunch lettuces survived. The success rates for each variety were ≈16.67% and ≈33.33%.
Key observation:
Seedlings were approximately ten days late initially, but the pre-harvest session was punctual on July 17. I shared the video in my story on July 18.
Smart garden tool:
My device unboxing on Jan 15, 2025, and I am using @chatgpt to plan timelines and note the date on my @apple iOS calendar
Vegetable storage:
• wash when enjoying, avoid moisture speed decay
• store in refrigerator can last a week, set ≥ 0-4°C
• place with crisper drawers, maintain ideal humidity
Refrigerator stored:
I chose glass containers, BPA-free, high-quality lids @pyrexhome The heat-resistant glass is usually not recyclable due to its different melting point.
