Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD)

When it comes to the British New Wave and Post-Punk music movement, one cannot miss the works of OMD. The British electronic pop band, active from 1978 to 1996, is passionate about exploring and loving music, regardless of era and genre. Upon first encountering OMD, I was deeply drawn to their unique melodies. I attended their 40th-anniversary concert in New York, and the lead singer’s voice is now completely different from when he was young. Unlike his youthful clear and bright voice, it has transformed into a deep and full-bodied vocal.

談到英國新浪潮與後龐克音樂運動，絕不能錯過 OMD的作品，活躍於 80年代 (1978–1996)的英國流行電子樂團體，對音樂的探索與熱愛是不分年代和類型，初識 OMD就被他們旋律的獨到之處給深深吸引，參加了他們出道至今 40週年於紐約舉辦的演唱會，主唱的聲音已和年輕時期的他完全兩種聲域，不同於以往年少清脆嘹亮的歌聲，轉變為渾厚飽滿的嗓音。

從下方我剪輯的短片中可以聽到，主唱 Andy McCluskey完全是實力派唱將，上了把年紀連唱十幾首歌曲還是穩如泰山，表演過程中他還又唱又跳，寶刀未老也絲毫沒有凋零，我現場聽得好感動，他敬業的精神與湧泉般的活力，難怪資深粉絲們就算過了四十年還是不忘前來相挺！

From the short clip that I have edited below, you can hear that the lead singer, Andy McCluskey, is a powerhouse vocalist. Despite his age, he effortlessly sings more than a dozen songs and is as steady as a rock. During the performance, he sings and dances, and his skills have not diminished at all with age. I was deeply moved when I heard him perform live. His dedication and boundless energy are impressive, which is why even after forty years, his loyal fans continue to support him!

Dress Code

Brooklyn Steel是室內的場地，有空調、場地不算太大，五月的紐約還不算太熱，但人擠人的時候我還是耐不住人群的熱氣，脫下皮衣只穿無袖，當晚被資深粉絲們包圍，笑問我是他們的粉絲嗎？怎麼會出現在這裡

Brooklyn Steel is an indoor venue with air conditioning. The space is not too big, and in May, New York is not too hot yet. However, I couldn’t stand the heat from the crowded people, so I took off my leather jacket and wore a sleeveless shirt instead.

演唱會 Door Open時間，通常會離表演正式提早一個小時左右，如果想要前面幾排的好位子可以準時入場！

Concerts usually open their doors about an hour before the performance officially starts. If you want to get a good spot in the front few rows, be sure to arrive on time!
