Encountering the restaurant Asterid was a romantic encounter, located at the Walt Disney Concert Hall music center, an iconic landmark designed by architect Frank Gehry. The restaurant is run by renowned chef Ray Garcia and features a menu that highlights the diverse cultures and rich cuisine of Los Angeles, with a focus on fresh ingredients. Initially, I came here out of my passion for architecture, but I unexpectedly stumbled upon this newly opened restaurant. I always leave some flexibility in my itinerary, so I decided to include this surprise discovery in my final day’s plan. With creative cuisine and high-quality decor, Asterid provided the perfect ending to my trip to Los Angeles.
與餐廳 Asterid的不期而遇,算是場浪漫的邂逅,位於建築師 Frank Gehry所設計的 LA標誌性地標 Walt Disney Concert Hall音樂中心,由名廚 Ray Garcia推出,以食材為導向的菜單推廣洛杉磯多元文化和豐富的美食。當初來到此是循著我對建築的熱情,卻意外發現這家剛開幕的餐廳,安排行程我都會保留些彈性,就將這驚喜加入最後一天的規劃,創意的料理、高質感的裝潢,為這趟洛杉磯之旅劃下完美的句點。

我自己就坐在酒吧區,喜歡酒吧高腳椅的設計,皮質的椅背搭配精緻的木紋椅框,轉折處以金屬相接,整體裝潢非常精美,連調酒所使用的新鮮水果都放進木頭紋路的容器中呈現,酒吧右側為開放式廚房,可以看見裡頭乾淨整潔的烹飪環境。
I am sitting in the bar area myself and I like the design of the bar’s high chairs. The leather backrest is paired with an exquisite wood grain chair frame, with metal joints at the bends, and the overall decoration is very exquisite. Even the fresh fruits used for making cocktails are displayed in containers with wood grain patterns. On the right side of the bar is an open kitchen, where you can see a clean and tidy cooking environment.

室內沙發區位於落地窗一旁,採光與擺設都非常舒適
The indoor sofa area is located beside the French window, and the lighting and furnishings are very comfortable.

洗手間的花束太美了,貼心附上洗手乳與護手霜
The bouquet in the restroom is so beautiful. They also thoughtfully provide hand soap and hand cream.

The orange circle on the menu is just like the warm sunshine in LA.

我選擇無酒精 Spritz,玻璃杯是 Bormioli Rocco,被美麗雕花吸引,另外還點前菜章魚捲,和主餐羊腿,但羊腿的份量非常多,我自己其實吃不完
I chose a non-alcoholic spritz, served in a Bormioli Rocco glass that caught my eye with its beautiful carved design. In addition, I ordered an appetizer of octopus rolls and the main course of lamb leg. However, the portion of lamb leg was very large, and I couldn’t finish it all by myself.
意大利苦味酒、起泡酒花、葡萄柚、薄荷
Spritz – house Italian bitter, sparkling hops, grapefruit, mint

章魚捲 – 新英式捲、阿勒頗酸奶、酸菜沙拉
Octopus Roll – new england style roll, aleppo yogurt, pickled cabbage slaw

羊腿 – 焦茄子泥、牛排番茄、藜麥塔布勒
Lamb Shank – charred eggplant puree, beefsteak tomato, quinoa tabbouleh

Asterid最令我印象深刻的是創意料理,坐在我隔壁的客人點好幾杯酒搭配許多盤小菜,也都表示驚豔,食材都是我們意想不到的組合,滋味卻充滿著驚喜,宛如一場美食的冒險,主廚 Ray Garcia不僅是帶給我們味蕾上的饗宴,更是顛覆人們如何定義烹飪的新視野!
The most impressive thing about Asterid for me is their creative cuisine. The guest sitting next to me ordered several glasses of wine and many plates of small dishes, and they all expressed their amazement. The ingredients used are unexpected combinations, but the flavors are full of surprises, like a culinary adventure. Chef Ray Garcia not only brings us a feast for the taste buds but also a new vision of how to define cooking!
