NYC Korean Michelin – Jungsik 紐約美食 韓菜 米其林二星 餐廳推薦

Till I visited Jungsik, the Michelin restaurant changes my impression of Korean cuisine, before, my thought of Korean traditional food is kimchi, Ginseng chicken soup, and Budae Jjigae (army stew). The chef, Yim Jung Sik, he established the restaurant in 2011 in Tribeca, New York. Jungsik offers a comprehensive experience of western fine dining and contemporary Korean cuisine. The restaurant won the Michelin 2-star guide in 2014.

對韓國料理印象停留在泡菜、部隊鍋、蔘雞湯,直到遇見 Jungsik,完全顛覆我對韓國美食的想法,主廚 Yim Jung Sik在 2011年於紐約 Tribeca創立餐廳,將韓餐以西式手法呈現,並榮獲美食指南米其林二星的肯定。

Interior Design 裝潢

西式現代風格為主的裝潢,沒有華麗的裝飾,簡約大方又不失功能性的設計,提供更全面性的體驗,暖色調與木紋打造出的舒適感,你會在雅緻的空間中發現別出心裁的品牌元素,Logo巧妙地應用於窗花、餐具和擺飾。

The restaurant is mainly focused on modern Western-style decor. Without the ornamentation and intricate detailing, Jungsik has a minimalistic presentation. You can experience the cozy feeling entirely and feel back at home from their majority of wood elements and warm colors. I was strongly impressed by all the details, logo design, branding, and timeless charm of the decoration.

We ordered the Signature menu this time. Check out their website to see the introduction of full dishes and pictures. Here I selected 2 dishes that impressed me most.

Banchan 飯饌

第一道餐點 Banchan,命名靈感源於韓式小菜,像雕塑般使用幾何圖形的展示台擺設,品嚐順序由左順時鐘:牛肉塔塔、紫菜蛋羹、脆皮餛飩蝦、日本鰤魚、玉米卷。

Osetra caviar 魚子醬

最喜歡的一道菜是 Osetra caviar,連餐具都十分講究,貝殼紋路的花型圓盤,搭配魚子醬專用的貝殼湯匙,保留食材的香氣和風味。

My top 1 dish is Osetra caviar. I like how it presents in the flower-shaped shell plate with a mother-of-pearl spoon – which can hold the flavor of caviar. The ideal choice for caviar tasting.

Lingua Franca 白酒

主要餐點多為海鮮,選擇搭配產於俄勒岡州 Eola-Amity Hills的 Lingua Franca白葡萄酒。

Most dishes are seafood, so we chose the white wine of Lingua Franca, produced from Eola Amity Hills in Oregon.

Jungsik 不像天天吃的韓式家常料理,更算是特殊紀念日的饗宴,屬於朋友來訪紐約想摘星,我會極力推薦的餐廳,從室內裝潢、餐具、菜餚全方面的體驗,無微不至的巧思與創意。

Jungsik is not like the restaurant you would visit every day. It’s more like a place to celebrate special memories or anniversaries. I’d highly recommend Jungsik to friends when they travel to New York and want a Michelin guide. And they’d definitely enjoy the experience and creativity of interior design, the art of plating, and the cuisine.
